Project Overview

This project involved conceptualising and visualising a contemporary beach house in Jurien Bay, Western Australia, a coastal haven known for its pristine beaches and relaxed lifestyle. The design emphasised open-plan living, sustainable materials, and fluid indoor-outdoor spaces to capture ocean views and promote energy efficiency. The visualisations were crucial for refining the concept and exploring market potential.

Our Role at LOOM Works

As the creative lead, I developed the initial architectural and interior design concepts, which served as a guide for creating detailed plans for development approval (DA) and the precast construction process. Using our expertise in immersive technologies, We created:

  • Photorealistic Still Renders:
    High-fidelity images for design approval and marketing, showcasing exterior facades, interior spaces, and landscaping details.

  • VR Walkthrough:
    An interactive virtual reality experience allowing stakeholders to explore the home in real time, highlighting features like expansive decks and custom kitchens.

Industrial Construction Robots

Project Overview

This project centered on visualizing an innovative robotics engineering venture for a client expanding into industrial construction robots designed for high-rise building assembly. The concept featured autonomous robots capable of efficient, safe, and scalable construction in urban environments, addressing challenges like labor shortages, site safety, and rapid urbanization. A fictitious cityscape served as the backdrop to demonstrate the robots' capabilities in erecting a 35-story structure, emphasizing precision engineering and AI-driven coordination.

Our Role at LOOM Works

As the creative lead, drawing from my extensive experience in AR/VR development, I collaborated with robotics engineers and marketing teams to develop a detailed 3D model of the robotic systems and high-rise construction process,  Leveraging my proficiency in Unreal Engine and Houdini, I created:

  • Photorealistic Still Renders:
    High-fidelity images capturing robot deployments, structural progress, and cityscape integrations, rendered with Houdini and DaVinci Resolve for compelling marketing materials.

  • Short Promotional Video:
    A concise animation showcasing the robots constructing the high-rise in a fictional urban setting, designed for fundraising pitches to highlight efficiency and innovation.

  • Full AR Presentation:
    An interactive augmented reality experience that overlays a miniature robot fleet on a tabletop, animating the real-time build of a 35-story building; script-based and variable for each run, with features to reverse, pause, or query information on components like AI algorithms or safety protocols.

Key Worker Housing VR

Project Overview

This project focused on visualizing Key Worker Housing, featuring precast cyclone-proof housing units designed for durability in harsh environments. The site included multiple worker apartments arranged for efficient living, emphasizing modular construction to enable rapid assembly while ensuring resilience against extreme weather conditions.

Our Role at LOOM Works

As the creative lead, I collaborated with engineers, architects and project stakeholders to develop detailed 3D models of the full site and assembly processes, enabling immersive simulations for layout optimization and construction sequencing. Drawing on my proficiency in tools like Unreal Engine and Blender, I produced:

  • Photorealistic Still Renders:
    A selection of high-fidelity images extracted from the VR models, showcasing apartment interiors, site overviews, and structural details for tender documentation.

  • Video:
    A dynamic video compiled from VR footage, featuring fly-arounds going down streets and panning past site features to illustrate navigation, housing layouts, and overall functionality.

  • Full VR Experience:
    Comprehensive virtual reality walkthroughs of the entire site with all worker apartments, plus a dedicated VR simulation of the precast housing assembly process, allowing interactive exploration of build stages.
     

These deliverables were instrumental in supporting the client's tender submission, aligning with LOOM Works' commitment to creating persuasive visuals that enhance project proposals.

Farm Stay House

Project Overview

This project involved conceptualising a practical farm stay house in rural Western Australia for the mid to low price range. Constructed with precast materials, it featured a glass roof with powered louvres over the central open-plan kitchen, lounge, and dining area, a full verandah, and a rear indoor-outdoor BBQ and dining space, providing affordable accommodation for farm visitors.

As the creative lead, I developed the initial architectural and interior design concepts in close collaboration with the client, working through multiple iterations to achieve client approval before proceeding to detailed plans. Using my expertise in visualisation technologies, I created:

  • Photorealistic Still Renders:
    High-fidelity images for design approval, showcasing the exterior with its full verandah and rural backdrop, as well as interior details like the central glass-roofed kitchen, lounge, and dining area with powered louvres, the rear indoor-outdoor BBQ and dining space, and additional features such as the blue-toned kitchen with integrated fireplace, bedroom with built-in wardrobe, and minimalist bathroom.

Packaging and Bottle Design Visualisation

Project Overview

This project encompassed the visualization of packaging and bottle designs for a premium whiskeys, developed in collaboration with REB Design. The designs catered to the full whiskey portfolios of brands Overeem, Nullaki, and Alchemy, focusing on elegant, brand-specific aesthetics that highlighted craftsmanship, heritage, and luxury through intricate label artwork, bottle shapes, and packaging materials suited for high-end spirits markets.

Our Role at LOOM Works

As the creative lead, I worked closely with REB Design to create 3D models for iterative pre-visualization renders during the design and approvals phase, followed by final high-fidelity assets. I produced:

  • Photorealistic Still Renders:
    Multiple variations for approvals, plus final high-resolution images with precise textures and lighting for marketing and online use.
     

These supported design approvals with pre-viz renders and enabled client marketing via polished finals, aligning with LOOM Works' focus on iterative, persuasive visuals.

East Timor Hotel Resort Superstructure

Project Overview

This project involved modelling and visualising the superstructure for a large hotel resort complex in East Timor, located right on the coast. The design incorporated innovative precast concrete construction methods, using very deep pilings to manage weight on sandy soil close to the water table and withstand strong coastal winds. Multi-storey buildings and a central pyramidal roof were engineered for efficient assembly, cost savings, and durability in this challenging environment..

Our Role at LOOM Works

As the creative lead, I collaborated with engineers to develop a comprehensive 3D model of the superstructure, enabling precise calculations for costings of concrete, steel, bolts, and angle lines. Using my expertise in visualisation technologies, I created:
 

  • Photorealistic Still Renders:
    High-fidelity images showcasing structural details, such as rebar connections, beam joints, and the overall resort layout using Unreal Engine and Blender.

  • Simple Video Rotations:
    Dynamic animations rotating around the model to illustrate assembly and scale.

  • Full VR Experience:
    An immersive virtual reality walkthrough allowing stakeholders to explore the structure in detail.
